Ashley Singh – 17

Ashley Singh is the new kid on the block, well I say, Kid, he is a fully grown adult but still at a tender age he brings a sound which many would expect from an artist with twice as much experience.

Speaking about a love encounter, Ashley grips and leaves us itching for more with his infectious vocal quality and hard-hitting music foundation. He brings a sound which many will find similar to Coldplay and Travis. But yet he also shines through a unique light of his own. The music is well polished. It has the commercial value which many will relish including myself, but it is the vocals which make the track what it is.

Ashley Singh

Lyrically, Ashley delves deep, and he sings with genuine passion. It is a brightly put together account of his past, and I could not help but find myself on his wavelength with each word he articulates. Smart syntax though is just one of the highlights because his vocal delivery is inspirational too. He sings with no barrier, and I like how he gives his all on this performance. As a result, it makes for the perfect summer release with a myriad of liabilities.

One thing though which I would have wished for is a little more originality in places. The influences Ashley has taken possibly take up too much room in areas because it is easy to find yourself thinking you have heard it before. Nevertheless, his quality and unique vocal make up for the generic indie structure, and vocally Ashley adds enough unique blend to make it stand out on its own.

Overall, a fresh and invigorating release from the London singer-songwriter.
