I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first heard “ВЕРЛАНГ” by Prophetic Psychosis, but it hit me differently than most tracks I’ve listened to lately. There’s something about the way Popaska and Vernichten layer those repetitive phrases that gets under your skin. “Overcome yourself” keeps coming back, and instead of feeling redundant, it actually builds this weird kind of momentum that I found myself getting lost in. The song made me think about how much energy we waste worrying about things that haven’t happened yet. It’s like they’re saying forget tomorrow, just be here now, and honestly that message felt really necessary for where I am in life right now.

The beats are infectious too, which helps because this could’ve been really heavy otherwise. I love how Prophetic Psychosis manages to talk about deep existential stuff without making you feel like you’re sitting through a lecture. Instead, you’re moving to it, feeling it in your body before your brain even catches up with what they’re saying. The production choices really support the message without overwhelming it. There’s space in the track, room to breathe, which I think is intentional given all that talk about silence and finding yourself in quiet moments.
What really got me was this idea that our words literally build the life we’re living. I’ve heard similar concepts before, but the way Prophetic Psychosis presents it here, wrapped in these engaging rhythms and this almost hypnotic vocal delivery, made it click for me in a new way. Every sound we make, every choice we voice out loud, it all adds up to something. That’s both terrifying and liberating when you really sit with it.
