Von Venn, an indie band from Dublin that is fronted by Gary Cox has recently left an impression on us. Gary is evolving both as a songwriter and a performer, and he delivers with strength here, demonstrating his ability and further establishing his place in the canon of modern songwriting.
Their newest single, ‘Constant Girl’, incorporates many subtle cues from some of the most important indie rock treasures from bygone eras, merging with it a modern texture that hits while the iron is hot. The performance has a melancholic atmosphere, but it also contains a wealth of discussion points, such as music that provides an opportunity for reflection and a storyline that is pertinent.
