Yulanda Sabrina is fresh on the music scene. But, comes full of musical prowess. Her latest single ‘Easier’ caught me in its grasp, and I have been enjoying it daily since it first arrived.
The track has an R&B vibe but yet offers plenty of pop and soul flavour within the mix too. Never one to shy away from the freshest in this genre, I am pleasantly surprised to hear such a fantastic debut release from the Croydon-based singer.
It gets underway with a synth lead which we hear a lot in the modern chart. There is something about the synth which makes for a majestic listen. Her use of the instrument provides a true heavenly feel, and it makes way perfectly for her sublime vocal delivery. It is all about a relationship breakdown. We have all, well most of us encountered a relationship which hits the rocks. But, we also know too well how hard it can be to get over a loved one. ‘Easier’ takes this emotion to a new level.
We hear Yulanda express herself clearly. She wants it to get easier. Sadly, it doesn’t come easy for the singer to shake it off. But, if it makes way for a great single like this, then maybe it’s positive? The track follows a similar theme throughout. We do not hear a tremendous amount of variation within the sections, but the structure it provides works well. There is no bang in the track, which would have been refreshing to hear. But, it serves as proof that debuts really can be fantastic. I am going to be keeping my eye on her as she progresses. Her future is looking very bright, and the best is probably yet to come.
