No Serial Killer – We’re All Going 2 Die

No Serial Killer is not a name I knew of before. I have also checked through their online backlog, and although it is sparse, they do have a lot to provide. They come fresher than a bag of freshly picked grapes. Also, yes, it is a new project, but they promote a sound which is reminiscent of bands with decades more experience.

‘We’re All Going 2 Die’ is a somewhat bizarre track. Put it this way; I doubt you will hear anything quite like it anytime soon. It starts with the 70s influenced piano rhythm section with a catchy melody and firmly hit drum beat. A stellar vocal performance then jumps out like a jack in a box, with the singer taking us into a new space with a more traditional yet individual performance. She sings with her heart on her sleeve, and I like that. Also, the integrity which she boasts is inspiring for anyone looking for a non-nonsense listen.

No Serial Killer

As far as influences go, this track rarely sticks to a 100% spell. It appears that is has taken hints from all corners of the music industry with it flipping between decades regularly. But, I relish this approach, it is like a compilation of the highlights of decades before us while also providing a contemporary likeability.

Musically, it is exciting, although there are a few things I would have amended within the mix. I think the guitar lead is possibly too warm and jazzy for the track and a little more high-end tone could have added wonders to it. Also, the bass section can be tricky to hear and does get lost unless you have a speaker setup with quality low-frequency audibility. Nevertheless, it is an energetic track and provides plenty.
