The Hassan Assassin is the latest hip hop star to drop a stellar new release. His latest track ‘Come Over’ comes with a flavour many are struggling to resist, and his charm and confidence ooze out from the get-go.
Kicking off is a strong intro with a thumping bassline and a clap beat which could get even your grandpa tapping his foot. He then opens up the vocal section with an unforgettable vocal performance similar to what we hear from the likes of Wiz Khalifa. Nevertheless, he is no replica, and although I can find a lot of similarities, he still shines brightly in his unique corner.
As the track progresses, we hear more sounds making the fold. It proves that the artist can stay versatile, and each section adds something new, which I find massively refreshing. It prevents it from falling into the repetitive trap, and it keeps the excitement and buzz flowing. Vocally, Hassan sings with an actual self-assurance, he knows he is good, and he leverages it but not in a cocky way which is awe-inspiring.
Nevertheless, I would have liked to have heard more in terms of backing and harmonies because that could have added even more spark to the flame and given more weight in the background sections. Overall though, it is a hip hop gem which comes with a bang. The Hassan Assassin takes no hostages with his approach, and he proves that he is taking giant leaps with each new release which he drops. But, he is still early in his career; therefore, he will need more hits like this one to cement his name even deeper into the history books.
